Indications for a Post and Core

● Removal of a large portion of tooth hard tissue after treatment of the affected tissues
● Support for bridge retention
● Tooth decay under a previously placed crown
● Pathological tooth erosion
If the destruction of the tooth goes deep under the gum, the tooth must be extracted.
Fabrication and placement of a dental Post and Core

In the case of Post and Core, the tooth canals must be properly filled to the top of the root.
● Root preparation - unsealing the root canals to 2/3 of the tooth root length
● Impression - impressions are taken of both the upper and lower jaw to make the crown portion of the Post and Core of the desired size, tilt and shape
● Laboratory fabrication of the structure
● Fixing the structure at the root
With proper and high-quality restoration of teeth with dental Post and Cores, teeth will last for many years, fully performing their functions.
